I finally got my coveted DVD of "Lone Star" (1996)
There is so much to say about this film. It is centered around an
unsolved murder of a crooked sheriff in a border town in Texas. The
film flip flops from the present to the past throughout but it's easy
to follow. All the while there are several subplots weaving their way
in.
A brilliant cast is lead by Chris Cooper..not to mention Kris
Kristofferson who was at his all-time best as the sadistic sheriff
Charlie Wade. Joe Morton, Elizabeth Pena and Frances McDormand were
excellent as well. I could go on and on about this one.
This is a "must see" for any John Sayles fan.....for me it's his best
effort.
Perfect in every way. Some of the best two hours I've ever spent
(movie wise that is). On my all-time top 10 favorite film list.
