Sorry!  ... I was wondering if there's a comprehensive list of all tracks he has appeared on, or co-wrote/provided lyrics.  Wikipedia lists a good amount (examples, tracks w/ Jon Tiven & Boz Scaggs) but as this Joe Bouchard track shows ... it is not complete!  Is there a definite list compiled someplace? ... thanks!

As you can see the new site has some updates, although I am focusing on restoring the old stuff that went missing eons ago …

Joe Bouchard was in Blue Oyster Cult and “Angel’s Well” comes from the same time period as “Perfect Water” in terms of JC’s contribution of the song to BOC, although BOC never recorded the song. 

I spoke with Bouchard awhile ago as an interview for my biography.

“Twisted Tales” by Ray Manzarek & Roy Rogers has four song authored by Jim. And I believe there is a master tape of Ray & Jim doing those songs sitting on a shelf somewhere.

Er yeah, I bought the CD 3 years ago, so  . . . I'm guessing this one has been buried in my "to-do" list. This is actually one of the more exciting collaborations because there are unreleased Jim Carroll recordings.

Also (holy crap) in 2012 I purchased Translucent Blues, which has another two JC songs recorded by Ray Manzarek and Roy Rogers. This one I have to investigate because it includes "Tension."

Yes, it's embarrassing. But in my defense I have focused on rebuilding the site while also separately archiving new stuff as I have found it -- with the intention of adding it to the website once the site is rebuilt.

Lots of Jim Carroll lyrics on Herman Brood and his Wild Romance song “Fake.” There’s a couple more with JC’s lyrics also. Just thought I’d throw this out there. Jim Carroll is still one of my favorites, and always will be. (So is Herman.) I met Jim at Mass Moca and he said he met Herman when he was in California.

Well! This is entirely new to me! 

I googled and found “Fake” on *The Brood* (1984). I haven’t found any lyrics yet, or if the song is available anywhere.

This one is a unique find! I see they also have a Lou Reed song later on.

If Jim and Herman met in California in makes a lot of sense for this to appear in 1984. JC seems to have handed out a lot of songs to other artists then, and most weren’t recorded until later. I would love to know more about this conversation with Jim - like how did the topic arise and what did he say about meeting Herman and and his impressions and what did he think of the how the song was done and and and …

Where are the other lyrics? “Fake” is the only one where JC is credited as a writer on Wikipedia. 

If you have any details, cover art, anything, please share!

I first met Jim at MassMoca in North Adams Mass. He did his always amazing poetry reading and when he was through he retired to the rear of the stage at the bar. I had written a poem about him titled “Oh Jim” so I headed back there to give it to him. He was sitting on a stool with his other leg resting on another. I stood in front of him as he rubbed and complained that his knee was hurting. He did seem like he was in a good mood, I gave him the poem I wrote and asked him to sign a poster I “stole” off the wall of the event. He laughed and said “oh…you copped a poster!” I mentioned Herman and Jim said “and his Wild Romance,I met him in California.” I asked him about the use of his lyrics and he said “that’s fine.” 

I just have to add, I was very excited about recording the whole event and couldn’t wait to watch it again. Even though Jim was outstanding as usual he seemed a little “off” health wise. When I mentioned it to my wife she said he looks as though his spirit left his body. (I swear this is all true.) when I finally had the time to check out the video, only his voice recorded, the mic and stage recorded, but no Jim. 

I met him one more time in Worcester at the “Lucky Dog” where he signed his book for me.

Dear Cassie and all beloved fans,

   I keep hearing about these interesting finds and it sparks my curiosity. But having heard the song by Joe Bouchard my only reaction is " my God was Jim prolific'. I found Bouchard's music lacking. It reminded me of two things that may be paradoxical: 1. Jim is gone. 2. Jim is immortal- both in the universe and my heart. I have every book and poem he's ever written and every album/CD he recorded. Thanks to Cassie Carter and Catholic Boy I will always have something I haven't seen or forgot. If Cassie is not Jim's Guardian Angel then there must not be a God (there is). If any of you are ever stressing over who recorded Jim's this or that, just pick up one of his books or put on one of his CDs. It's all there. God Bless you all. LOVE!
