Dear Bakarapet Hasher
The group going up on Friday is carrying 4 gas cylinders from their homes, which they will bring back with them. We need any ONE of the Saturday party to get one more cylinder. Email back asap, and we will CONFIRM one of you as the chosen one. Cylinder needs to be compatible with the Indane/HP regulator.
There have not been any questions from Newbies so we guess that you are all set for Bakarapet. You are also probably not reading this mail, since you are either dreamily looking out of your office window imagining yourself frolicking amongst the deer and sambhar, getting scratched as you jump over a fallen tree and graze against a plant that did not have visible thorns, or you are out busily shopping - 10 big bottles of Dujon mustard?!!! - or busy angling trying to catch the biggest fish that you will tow to Bakarapet to grill over the barbecue.
We have tons of rare and fresh music from Elvis Presley's last concert where he performed just 2 days before he died to concerts of Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, etc, to lots and lots of Jazz concerts. Since no one has volunteered to be the DJ/VJ for a time slot, I guess that you are game for almost anything that is played. No cribs entertained on the music front at Bakarapet. Still time to respond to this call.
The Chefs at Jazz in the Jungle are no ordinary ones. Most of them being engineers at heart, they have the recipes printed and laminated (for all the Editions so far), with a Bill of Materials on a spreadsheet, and plenty of practice sessions at home. After every edition they regale each other with the various goofs that they made, but experience tells us that their goofs have resulted in the tastiest of dishes. Remember the hasher with a piece of bread, who went up to the empty vessel where one of the goofs (the spice got burnt thanks to the powerful, industrial strength burners) had occurred and scraped the bottom stating that it was the best dish he had ever tasted in his life. Burn the spice a bit has now entered recipe books.
I guess that you have chosen your convoy for travel to Bakarapet. The ones who live south of the Adyar are assembling at Nalini/Radha's place and will set off together at about 7:30 am. Others will no doubt do something similar. It is possible that Ranga will arrive in time to catch this train, allowing Rafiq's car to pick up a couple of wanna be harriets who are flying down from Delhi later that morning.
The shirts have been ordered as per your request, but you know what can happen. I Don't Mind will give preference in outfitting the Chefs and the Hares (good reason to volunteer) first, before getting down to the others. We hope that almost all of you get the t shirt of your size, so do not carry too many from home.
Just received a question from a harriet:
