Dear Bakarapet Hasher

Before we forget, do any of you have Tents that you can bring?  We will provide mattresses and pillows so that you are comfortable.

Hash Mails have their own flavour.  They are characterised by references that "only those who know, understand".  Hashers who are regular, or know most of the others, enjoy a chuckle when they interpret the reference correctly.

So the scribes amongst you should write up stuff that will be enjoyed by all.  Both before or after the weekend.

The mails from now on will be more frequent, and more relevant to making the weekend fun for your self and others. In response to the email on the subject of A Twist in the Tail, no bartenders offered their services (you are not too late to do so now).  However, we have two item numbers on the cards - & you will get to enjoy the performance at the Circles.  As is expected of Hashers, they will be practising their cross dressing & for performance over the next few days.

Each time at Bakarapet, we plan for so many things.  Mismanagers are hashers too, and the copious quantities of sacred fluid in their veins leads to forgetting so many things.  eg. last time we had so much wood that was never used for the born fires.  If more of you took up the responsibility of even a small thing, so much more can be done.

The music at Bakarapet is great but can never satisfy everyone.  If you are particular, you can offer to be the DJ/VJ for an hour or so at a particular time.  You need to email your time slot before hand and state what type of music you will be playing.  You can bring the music or videos on a CD or a USB stick or an external drive.

Your travel arrangements from Madras are still not clear to Mismanagement.  If we do not have the info, we presume that you have made your own arrangements, and there is no need for a Tempo Traveler.  We have a sponsor who travels in ishtyle.  Insists on two harriets accompanying him each time.  This time we offered only one lamb, but he held out for one more. Look out for who travels up on Sunday.

If you have got a blank against your name under the payment column, please give your money to one of several people mentioned in earlier mails.  Beep Beep will be at the Run today and will collect your money if you bring it.

As is the usual practise, the email ids on the Bakarapet list is constantly updated to reflect who is ON and who cannot make it.  We will miss one particular hash family this time, but their email id has not been removed as we expect them to be with us in spirit.  They got rogered (click on the word to see the meaning of the slang term) - or should we we say rajued given the city they come from - along with several others very recently and are taking steps over the weekend to help recover from the ordeal.

[Madras Hash House Harriers]

Dear Bakarapet Hasher

There is apparently no bartender lurking inside any of you.  Perhaps there is one who loves giving massages.

The list below has been reordered to reflect who is traveling in which car, and also the date of arrival (1st eleven on Friday, most on Sat and the last 6 on Sunday).  This will help you coordinate.  It is also advisable to travel in a convoy - that way you get lost together!  Suggested time of departure is 7 am so that you beat the traffic, but then it is up to you. Carry water, snacks & sandwiches in the car.  Click here for a map to guide you, though more detailed directions are pasted from last year's mail:

Usually, we drive up to Nayudupeta, turn left for Kalahasti, skirt Tirupathi town, and take NH 205 to Bakarapet.

The venue is at milestone 253.8 km.

This time, we drove to Tada, and took a left just before the flyover starts. The State road is much shorter.

Drive through Kalahasti Town, follow the signs for Chitoor, taking the Tirupati bypass road.

The road is a semi circular one which goes clockwise. Pass a HP and an IBP petrol bunk next to each other.

Then a couple of Km on, there is Park Avenue Motel on the right in a small marketplace.  

Take the right turn immediately after. This road is a narrow, winding road of good quality.

It takes you to Rangampeta (?) on NH 205, where you take a left and follow the road to Bakarapet.

Remember that the event is Lunchtime on Sat to Lunchtime on Monday, and all the food you can eat & beer that you can have is included.  The hash will also have a limited supply of some spirits. Going by past experience, it is always better for you to tuck a favourite bottle of wine or single malt or whatever in your bag, to go with the mood under the moonless starry sky.  We will also have paper cups, but you may want to bring your own glass to savour your drink. 

To cater to the large numbers this time, we have three bathrooms with toilets in Tally Ho, and two loos at the site of Jazz in the Jungle Edition 3 have been reactivated.  The two at the old site being a 5 to 10 minute walk away, guys should gravitate there in the morning, while the harriets use the ones in the home-stead.  The loos in the house have timers, where all hell breaks loose if it is not vacated in 3 minutes.  Loo etiquette (I love it when the red underline does not appear - my English school teacher would be proud) is called for - do not hog a scarce resource.

• 5 kg of cube ice to add to an evening drink packed in a cool box or thermocole box.
• First aid kit
