Has anyone heard about JDDAC of java.net?

I am working on a engineering project where various instruments needs
to be monitored through a central system and events should be logged
for the future analysis purpose. JDDAC a java.net project was very
famous in 2005/2006 but seems to be inactive now a days. Is there any
other mailing list or forum for the project or similar other framework
can help me in.
