Principal / Senior Software Engineer- Java, Microservices, API

A flourishing company and a strong partner over the past 10 years is moving their AWS platform to GCP.  At least a one year project and an opportunity to work with an incredible leadership team on a highly visible initiative.  

• 100% remote 
• Salary up to $140K or hourly (W2 or C2C) - rate will depend on skill / consultant level

 What will you be doing?

• Remediate API technical debt
• Identify and document AWS specific services that will need to be removed/replaced when migrating API's to the new cloud provider
• Simplify and improve stability/ performance of APIs
  • Perform code audits to identify opportunities for refactoring and stability/performance improvements.  
  • Implement fixes/changes that were identified during code audit
  • Recommend software architectural changes
  • Recommend best practice architectural design principles focused on scalability and flexibility

 What skills/experiences do you need?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Senior level skills in Java, Spring Boot, APIs and microservices
• Experience architecting and/or developing concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization in large-scale distributed systems
• Strong background in developing web applications, API designs, and web service integrations
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be self-starter, take initiative
• Consultant mindset strongly preferred
