Abstract

The Spring ecosystem continues to push Java forward, offering enterprise developers a unified, production-grade foundation for modern microservices and intelligent, agentic applications. In this hands-on session, we’ll explore the major highlights of Spring Boot 4.1—including native gRPC auto-configuration, built-in SSRF mitigation for HTTP clients, automatic context propagation, and faster JPA bootstrapping—and see how these enhancements elevate performance, observability, and security across your microservices stack.

Next, we’ll dive into Spring AI 2.0 to show how AI integration evolves from basic prompt scripts into robust, production-ready Spring components. We’ll cover the unified ToolCallingAdvisor architecture, Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integration using standard Spring annotations (@McpTool), and patterns for building self-correcting agentic workflows. Attendees will walk away with practical, copy-pasteable strategies to build cleaner, safer, and smarter Spring applications today.

DaShaun is also a keynote speaker, author, Agentic AI Foundation Ambassador, Testcontainer Champion, Raspberry Pi enthusiast, and former professional cheerleader.
