Japan is cool! But is that all they are saying?

Dear Friends and Students,

I'm off to Tokyo for research on Tuesday and I'll be there and in
Kyoto until late February. At the request of several of you, I'll be
on the lookout for potential jobs for our graduates and work-study
opportunities for everyone. I'll post whatever I find so please stay
tuned.

Sharp has just gone to air with a new commercial for its Aquos model
LCD TVs. Watch the clip at the link below and let me know what you
make of its heavy stress on the product's Japanese origins. I think
the subtext is rather interesting and perhaps a little political in
