The Research Institute for Asia and the Pacific
is pleased to invite you to meet students from
Tohoku University, Japan

The students are visiting Australia between Sunday 1st - Saturday 28th of March 2009 and will be
at the University of Sydney learning about Australian culture and practicing English in their

These sessions are suitable to Japanese language students, or students with an interest in the
Asian region who can attend most sessions. This will enable you to get to know each other,
and hopefully you will build some great international friendships.

The Japanese students also have allocated free time after 5pm and on weekends, which is
another opportunity to socialize and introduce the students to the city of Sydney*. Such
activities as karaoke, fish and chips on Bondi beach, a trip to Taronga zoo and sightseeing in
Sydney can be organized together with the students.

If you are interested in attending these sessions and social events,
please call Glenn on 9351 8567 or email riapi...@usyd.edu.au by
Tuesday 24th February with the sessions that you are able to attend.

*Please note that social times are not a formal part of the 'Inside Australia' program. [The FISA Amendment Act of 2008 (made law on 9 July 2008) legalizes warrantless wiretaps on US citizens. Email sent to or from this account (mstavros) may be under surveillance.]
