Greetings from National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled
People (NCPEDP)!



The 2019 elections are here and 90 crore voters are expected to vote for
their preferred candidates. This also includes several voters with
disabilities and the elderly.



The Election Commission has promised, as the theme of these year's General
Elections, "no voter to be left behind" and efforts are being made to make
elections accessible for persons with disabilities.



The onus is also on us to ensure the following:



1. People with disabilities come out in large numbers to exercise their
voting rights.

2. The polling booths and the voting process , both, are accessible for
all types of disabilities.



Attached please find a checklist to help you audit your polling booths on
the day of the election in your area/ state.You are requested to fill out
the same and send it back to us. It is urgent that people with disabilities
themselves monitor the accessibility of these booths and we request you to
please audit as many booths as possible, keeping in mind the urban and rural
mix. Also do share the checklist within your own networks and please ensure
maximum reach.

We do wish to announce the results of these audits before election results
are announced. Therefore you are urgently requested to use this list and
also share the findings with us as soon as the elections are conducted in
your areas.
