Like a sweeping Greek trajedy and much more heart breaking than the NKOTB or Boys2Men break up, I must declare the Nodes of Ranvier disbanded.
I’ll be moving to NYC for a new gig and the search committee’s attempt for to find a replacement have come up dry: after much blackmail, badgering, groveling, horse trading, peer pressure, and guilt tripping, alas, none of you have fallen for the attractive offer to manage the team for the summer.
However, many of you have indicated interest playing this summer. The PENN Nursing school has a softball team which has been together for many years and well coached. If there is enough interest I can request if some of our players can be folded into their team. I may play a few games with them. Contact me if interested and I will contact their captain to get approval. Another bonus, is that the school covers league fees.
One final housekeeping item is that there is remaining funds from our “vast” treasury. Anybody know of any worthy causes or involved in inner city youth sports leagues that we can donate the money to to buy equipment. Or if you have other ideas please throw them out there. Last option would be cater food for neuroscience team at HUP .
