Howdy - tried this email via the Firesign website a few days ago, but
will resend info as my friend G Brown (who has spoken to you r.e. using
an old Ebbets Field comedy piece on a charity CD) gave me your direct
email. I'm a freelance writer (underline the word "free" as I no
longer get paid for anything I write since I stopped writing for
Goldmine & the like) who is really a Dentist (oh the shame of it).
I write pieces for 'Beatlefan' which, as fanzines go, is pretty well
distributed and glossy. Ok, so I asked Bill King (chief honcho) via
email if anyone had written about the heavy Beatles connection with
early youse guys and he had no clue what I referred to. Now that got
me thinkin' that while I'm not as much a Firesign expert as I am a
Beatles expert, it might be fun to try and cobble together a piece
about mainly the How Can You Be In 2 Places... Beatles references for
said publication.
My question, then, is - is there a compendium somewhere listing them
all (I find a few easily, but I believe it was listed in an old CD
booklet by Mr. Austin that there are 30 - gulp)? Or, is there an
expert type I can talk to in your fandom? Or, does someone in your
troupe wish to discuss it (and other arcania) for Beatlefan? Or, do
you folk prefer it all to be a mystery? (Long question - sorry).
Precedent has been basically the Neil Innes interviews the mag has
printed. If there is something fun there, I might also share it with
friend Archer who has a syndicated show called Beatles Basement on 120+
stations worldwide (check it out at
beatlesbasement.com). if the
answer it in the affirmative for help - danke. if the answer is bite
the big one...well, as a Dentist I'm used to that anyways.
