Family Tree DNA's version 3 of My Origins

Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) revamped their ethnicity estimate, called My Origins, about a month ago. The lead geneticist, Paul Maier, who worked on it, made 3 short videos (each about 10 minutes, totaling 31-32 minutes).

Part 1 explains the new Chromosome Painting. Part 2 is some technical methodology. Part 3 explains why the estimates are a problem. I need to watch part 3 again, as that's where I get the most question (I like his tangled Christmas lights).

Of course they need more people in their samples. He did mention in part 2 that they used people who had all 4 grandparents from the same population. So if you are 100% Portuguese, please, Please, PLEASE fill out the survey on your Family Finder page. Don't wait until they are almost ready to release the next version.
