Vince - I like it.  The piece is an entertaining survey of the standard blame game practiced any time a disruptive force unexpectedly gains leverage.  I offer another factor for the yellow vest success, not at all inconsistent with Hopkins — and it’s the disciplined rejection of leadership.  The establishment strategy is to “mob” shame them into putting forward some leader.  At that moment the protesters bet their whole game on the convincing charisma of one angry dude (and a reckless assumption that his history is clean)....a sucker’s bet.  No leader, no media scolding of intemperate language, no tracing a family genome to Nazis...ie, the blond vulture hanging around the fringe.  If I were a American establishment guy like Max Boot, I would fear leaderless populism much more than the Trump led variant.
