A caucasian, former Pittsburgh news anchor was recently terminated for her remarks on social media regarding African American suspects in a murder case. Now she's suing her former employer for wrongful termination on the grounds of racism, claiming that she would not have been fired if she'd not been caucasian. Is her case legitimate?

Are you asking for a legal opinion?  IANAL, but I would say that the burden would be on the
employee to prove that, had she not been white, she would not have been fired.  Seems like a 
non-trivial task.

The employer should have a fairly straight-forward case in arguing that what she did was not
professional, and likely did material harm to the firm.
