Got the initial tickle on this reading a fantasy baseball site. It seems that a lot of low-level sports, business and real estate squibs are now being written by algorithms. 
Some news as well as this article on a 2014 earthquake in LA shows.
Given that Google's Deep Mind recently defeated one of the world's best Go players 4 games to 1, an occurrence many in the AI community thought was as much as a decade away, the idea that sophisticated newsbots will be writing a significant percentage of our news sooner rather than later is certainly not inconceivable. 
Whither J-school?

Vince -- Here's where all the J schools are hanging out these days.

This case is fraught -- my guess is because millennials and LBGT folks are just a bit tweaked by the motivation.

Nobody's in favor of outing, but to essentially scream to the world, "Oh, the unbearable shame of it all!!!" seems to be striking some as a chapter missed.
