laptop cheater cord slips off annoyingly

please invent, seems simple, but i can't do it w/o tape, and tape
doesn't consistently work

on more than one of my faimily laptops, so i perceive it's a problem
for others

and cheater cord is probably not what the adapter cord is called, but
it
shows ya i'm in the 1950s in electronics

if the problem has been solved, then please clue me what the part is
called at best buy, radio shack, fry's, etc

memo to self; don't buy the fry's extended service contract--it didn't
help
fix my desk top lenovo, then thankfully staples did fix it for a
hundred $,
which is better than throwing it away
