The Wild Rose Casino new card room and Resort opened its doors for the
first time on Sunday 28th May, 2006 in Emmertsburg. Invited were
friends and family of the owners and their employees who anxiously
awaited the private opening to try out the slot machines and table
games.

The grand public openings for the casino are scheduled for June 30 and
July 1. Wild Rose Casino and Resort will be one of the premier gaming
facilities in the Midwest, according to casino officials and will
feature 28,000 square feet of luxurious gambling facilities and
amenities that include 550 slot machines, 16 game tables, an Irish Pub
fashioned after their sister city, Dublin in Ireland, a full buffet, a
71-room hotel, a 68-spot RV park and a convention center. The owners
took a little over a year to build the facility after the Iowa Gaming
Commission awarded Palo Alto County its building license.

The community expects to see economic growth in their neighborhood,
including new employment. The casino employs 340 employees; and the
community is expecting more facilities such as a new gas station, a
McDonald's and a Super 8 in support of the new casino. In addition to
this, 6% of the casino profits are expected to be used for non-profit
organizations within the community as well as educational growth and
development.

Kathy Fahy, Marketing Manager has said that the casino plans to have
four or five national concerts, and every weekend it will feature local
and regional entertainment featuring entertainers such as Eddie Money,
Shannon Brown and Phil Vassar.

Emmetsburg Mayor Myrna Heddinger said she believes the casino will
bring nothing but positive things to the Emmertsburg economy.
