The Family Medicine Interest Group, Surgical Interest Group, International Health Interest Group, and American Medical Student Association are co-sponsoring a talk by Dr. Deidre Byrne.

Dr. Byrne is a modern day renaissance woman! She is a religious Catholic sister, double board certified in family medicine and general surgery and a colonel in the U.S. Army. She has done mission work on most continents (in countries like Africa, India, Jerusalum, Korea, Mexico and the United States) for a number of years prior to entering the convent and currently serves the immigrant, homeless, and refugee populations at the Spanish Catholic Center in Mt Pleasant, DC. She is also a Georgetown University School of Medicine alumnus.
