Job Title: Business Objects Administrator
Location:
Bloomington, IL (face-2-face required)
Duration: 6-12 months
Rate:
$55/hour
This analyst would be expected to have the
skills and experience needed to provide 3rd tier support of the Business Objects
suite of products. The analyst would be part of a team of analysts providing
support and would be expected to have in-depth technical experience in
deploying, supporting, and administering the suite of tools. This role involves
communicating with business partners and other support areas within and outside
of the Systems Department and at the client.
· The analyst will implement, integrate,
support, and administer client Business Intelligence environment, specifically
the Business Objects tool suite.
· The analyst will be expected to have the
skills and experience needed to provide product support of our Business Objects
tools including Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Crystal Xcelsius, and
Business Objects Enterprise.
· The analyst must have a balance of customer
service and technical skills.
· The analyst must have written and verbal
communication ability to explain issues and concepts to both technical and
non-technical employees.
· This role involves communicating with business
partners and other support areas within and outside of the Systems Department
and BIC.
· This role involves working with a team to ensure the stability
and availability of the Business Objects deployments in Enterprise, End User
Computing (EUC), and Business Intelligence Reference Architecture (BIRA).
·
This role involves develop, follow, and/or implement infrastructure policies,
strategies, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
· This role would
include:
-General vendor product support
-Testing new
releases/fixes/service packs
-Installing and tuning the product on servers
in Windows and UNIX environments
-Coordinating the release and issuance of
new products to client workstations
-Consulting on projects and other
development efforts across departments
-Monitoring product performance,
troubleshooting, diagnostic, and system configurations
-Creating and
maintaining installation/configuration documentation for the vendor product
-Creating and maintaining disaster recovery plans
-Handling service
calls related to business partner support
-Working with vendors on root cause
analysis
· Knowledge of other BI tools such as Cognos, TM1, Executive Viewer
would be very beneficial.
This role will require 7 x 24 hour
support. The analyst will be required to adjust their work schedule so they can
work some off shift maintenance windows. The analyst will expected to be on a
rolling call list to provide after hours support and may be asked to carry cell
phone and/or pager.
