Good day,

 

Please find below mail regarding the courses to be done by seafarers with reference to STCW2010 and MLC2006.

Security training for seafarers with Designated Security Duties prior 31^st Dec 2013 including crew.

 

 

Refresher courses to be attended to meet STCW 2010 Amendments in brief are as follows :

 

1)     For DECK OFFICERS :-

a)      DGS approved Refresher training for AFF & PSCRB for officers (2days) & after every 5 years

b)     DGS approved ECDIS Generic Course (5 days)

c)      RUTC (Refresher & Updation training course) covering STCW 2010 & MLC 2006 requirements.

This course expected to be of 5 days for Operational level, 8 days for Management level Phase I

And 12 days for Management level Phase II. This covers PSSR/MFA and/or Medicare requirements.

d)     SSO for Chief Officer / Master if not done earlier.  Security training for seafarers with Designated Security Duties for all others if not possessing SSO certification.(Before 31^st Dec 2013)

     

2)     For ENGINE OFFICERS :-

a)      DGS approved Refresher training for AFF & PSCRB for officers (2days) & after every 5 years

b)      RUTC (Refresher & Updation training course) covering STCW 2010 & MLC 2006 requirements.

This course expected to be of 5 days for Operational level, 8 days for Management level Phase I

And 12 days for Management level Phase II. This covers PSSR/MFA and/or Medicare requirements.

c)      Security training for seafarers with Designated Security Duties for all others if not possessing SSO certification. (Before 31^st Dec 2013)(Dry vessel’s  matrix requires CE to be security officer and thus they are to be in possession of

 

3)     For ELECTRICAL OFFICERS :-

a)      DGS approved Refresher training for AFF & PSCRB for officers (2days) & after every 5 years

b)   OR DGS approved Refresher training for FPFF & PST for officers (2days) & after every 5 years

c)      PSSR course every 5 years.

d)     MFA course every 5 years.

e)      Security training for seafarers with Designated Security Duties for all others if not possessing SSO certification. (Before 31^st Dec 2013)

 

4)      For DECK & ENGINE RATINGS :-

a)      DGS approved Refresher training for BFF & PST for ratings (2 days) & after every 5 years.  

b)      PSSR course every 5 years.

c)      Security training for seafarers with Designated Security Duties for all.(Before 31^st Dec 2013)

 

      Kindly note, Elementary First aid that is done for trainees & ratings does not need to be updated under STCW 2010 Amendments.
