We regret to inform you that the Grand Goan, Alfred Tevarez left for his heavenly abode at an age of 70 in the early hours of Sunday, the 31^st August.

A journalist, a columnist, an author and a true Goan both by looks and at heart, Alfred came to Sweden in 1969. He was initially accredited to the news agency Press Trust of India, PTI and later to the Indo-Asian News Service, IANS. For the past few years, he was writing regular columns in the Goan paper OHeraldO. His last article was incidentally published on 31^st August, the day, he left this world.

The Samband conveys its heartfelt condolences to the grieved family, Eva Rende Tavarez, children and four grandchildren.

The last rites will take place at Sankta Eugenia katoliska kyrka Kungsträdgårdsgatan 12, Stockholm on Friday 12th September at 11.00 A.M.
