Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer
Location: Dearborn, Michigan
Duration: 6 months+ Long term contract
Visa: ALL (NO OPT, CPT & Transfers)
Global Data Insight & Analytics organization is looking for a Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning Engineer focused on building and driving the strategy forward for our internal Data Science / AI/ML platform. This role will work in a small, cross-functional team. The position will collaborate directly and continuously with other engineers, business partners, product managers and designers, and will release early and often. The team you will be working on is focused on building Mach1ML platform – an AI/ML enablement platform to democratize Machine Learning across Ford enterprise (similar to Uber’s Michelangelo, Facebook’s FBLearner, etc).
Position Responsibilities
· Work closely with Tech Anchor, Product Manager and Product Owner to deliver machine learning use cases using bAgile Methodology.
· Work with software and ML engineers to tackle challenging AI problems.
· Work specifically on the integration team to drive forward Platform integration and AI/ML adoption with other internal and external systems.
· Help innovate by researching state-of-the-art algorithms. Share knowledge with the team.
· Act as a consultant to the business vs. an order taker.
· Lead by example in use of Paired Programming for cross training/upskilling, problem solving, and speed to delivery.
· Leverage latest ML/NLP/ GCP technologies.
Basic Qualifications
· A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
· 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning Technologies.
· 2+ years of work experience as a software engineer with exceptional software engineering knowledge.
· Experience and good understanding of Machine Learning / Deep Learning Models / Python / Natural Language Processing
· Understanding or desire to learn end to end Machine Learning technology stack (Tools such as Domino Data Labs, Kubeflow, Kubernetes, SeldonCore, GCP, Jupyer Notebook, HPC, Hive, Hadoop, etc).
· Strong soft skills of communication , ability to share/teach others, work collaboratively with others etc.
· Good understanding of cloud design considerations and limitations and impact of pricing.
· Proficient in Python, and NLP/ML frameworks/libraries.
· Prior experience working with: container technology, docker files, docker images, GitHub, CI/CD concepts.
Desired Skills:
· Master and PhD focused in Computer Science / Machine Learning (highly preferred).
· Experience working with Google Cloud platform – specifically the AI Platform and other GSP AI/ML services.
· Experience in delivering machine learning software products using iterative approach.
· Experience in programming concepts such as Paired Programming, Test Driven Development, etc.
· Experience in supporting continuous improvement by investigating development alternatives.
· Experience using Machine Learning tools (pytorch, tensorflow, xgboost etc).
· Experience applying agile practices to solution delivery.
· Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle.
· Must be team-oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Good organizational and time-management skills.
· Must be a self-starter to understand existing bottlenecks and come up with innovative solutions.
· Open to learning new technology.
· Knowledge of coding and best practices.
