Dear Friends,

We have two great opportunities to help humanize the face of immigration in the media, please consider taking action today to bring reason and stop racism in the immigration debate - here's how you can help:

1) Write a positive comment to the Star Tribune.
Yesterday the Strib printed an editorial championing the contributions of immigrants, please write to the opinion pages supporting this fact-based article:

http://mpls.startribune.com/dynamic/feedback/form.php?opinion=1

2) Write a critical letter to St. Thomas Bulletin.

Today the University of St. Thomas will host an immigration event where Michael Hethmon, co-author of Arizona's racist law, will speak. Please write to the St. Thomas news service to shed light onto the racist ideologies driving the policy of Hethmon's organization, submit your letters to:

bull...@stthomas.edu

3) Here are some helpful links to inform your action -

*Read the Star Tribune editorial supporting immigrants and download fact-sheets on the "Immigration Reform Law Institute" and the "Center for Immigration Studies" - the two organizations speaking at St. Thomas today and fueling the racist ideologies behind the Arizona law:

*Anti-Catholic Groups Speak at Catholic University
In addition to being anti-immigrant and fueling racist policy debates, the "Immigration Reform Law Institute" and the "Center for Immigration Studies" have been linked to anti-catholic sentiment, read all about it here:

*Get the logistics of the St. Thomas event being held today:

*Get to know the St. Thomas news Bulletin:
