This morning, Senators Durbin, Menendez and Reid held a press-confernce to announce the re-introduction of the DREAM Act. We want to thank them along with the other 30 senators who are demonstrating leadership and commitment to Dreamers and their families by introducing this important legislation today.
Our movement has swept the nation, passing State-level DREAM Act bills in CA and MD, and beating back AZ-copycats in keys states like Florida this past week. We hope that the re-introduction of the DREAM Act will bring real action and a true effort from congress and the President to making it a reality. President Obama must take the necessary steps to stop the deportation of DREAM Act eligible youth and provide a path to legalization for these deserving individuals.
DREAMers across the country have been waiting for 10 years for the passage of this bill. It’s time that we stop wasting the talents and destroying the dreams of innocent young people in this country. It’s time that we ask our legislators and our president to stop playing politics and take real action! It’s time to pass the DREAM Act!
