Know How Talks at IDEO
Thursday, 5/14/09 5:00 pm IDEO Cafe*
Free and open to the public
Scott Dadich (hosted by Neil Stevenson and Sandy Speicher)
Scott joined Wired in 2006 to oversee design, photography, illustration and typography as Creative Director. His excellent design leadership has been recognized by a seemingly endless succession of awards, including back-to-back wins of the National Magazine Award for Design in both 2008 and 2009, the magazine industry’s highest design honor. He recently completed designing his first two books, Dan Winters’ long-awaited monograph for Aperture and the 2009 American Photography Annual, now in stores.
Here's our PROGRAM for Thursday (see attached poster): 5:00 - A thought starter from Neil Stevenson and Sandy Speicher, who have transformed our ideas about magazines at IDEO. 5:15 – Scott Dadich will talk about magCulture, developing a creative culture in magazine design, with three guiding ideas; that details matter, to design by evolution rather that revolution, and that constraint is freedom. 5:50 – Discussion – Neil Stevenson and Sandy Speicher will moderate a discussion, including speakers and audience.
*The Know How Talks are usually held on Thursdays at 5:00,
in IDEO's Palo Alto cafe next to our lobby at 100 Forest.
Enter from the alley between Alma St and High St.
The talks are open to the public. No need to RSVP.
