John Couch (hosted by Doug Solomon)
John Couch is Apple’s vice president of Education and is responsible for driving Apple’s sales and marketing strategy in the education market. He has over thirty years experience as a computer scientist, executive and advocate for technology in education. In 1978 he joined Apple as Director of New Products reporting to Steve Jobs. He was Apple’s first Vice President of Software and Vice President/General Manager for the Lisa division, Apple’s first GUI Computer. From 1985 to 2002, he turned his focus to education at the Santa Fe Christian School, demonstrating how the creative use of technology can revolutionize learning in the classroom.
Here's our PROGRAM for TOMORROW (see attached poster): 5:00 - A thought starter from Doug Solomon, who leads technology strategy efforts at IDEO. 5:15 – John Couch will talk about Visionary Leadership, telling us about the thinking behind the approach to leadership that he has evolved in technology and education. 5:50 – Discussion – Doug Solomon will moderate a discussion, including speakers and audience.
*The Know How Talks are usually held on Thursdays at 5:00,
in IDEO's Palo Alto cafe next to our lobby at 100 Forest.
