Idealist 3 instal on new hard drive ....

Hi, have just installed Idealist 3 with admin rights on a new PC. have added the origional folder of Bekon (including data) to Programme Files (x86) 

When I open a data file:

Reference column on left onlt shows the word ' Text' all the wayt down (apart from 'Date') once in the correct place.

Please can someone explain what I need to do to rectify this? Thank you in adavance.

I am a bit uncertain what you mean. Are you starting from scratch? Have you created a new *.tex file then begun creating a record structure for it?

 

Can you send us screenshots?

Are you opening an Idealist database created on another machine? If I understand the problem correctly, you may have to copy over the .def and .lay files for that database as well or the Idealist software won't be able to recognise the file and field types - hence everything is now 'text'. Hope this helps.
