I ran across this You Tube Video this morning talking about a Microsoft Update to Windows 11 that is causing SSDs to disappear both SATA and NVM.
The recommended action is to uninstall the update.
Here is a written article (from another source) on the subject:
I'm not sure if these are a trustworthy sources.
I've decided not to un-install the update because:
1 -- The NVMe inside of my laptop is not one of the drives that was reported having problems.
2 -- When the remedy is to uninstall this update and disable auto updates that sounds exactly what a hacker would want me to do.
The problem is described that when you are transferring a lot of data the drive disappears from the system. If that happens and the drive is where your Operating System is installed you will see one of the Blue Screens of Death or your computer would just reboot.
If you've started having problems with your Windows 11 computer lately then maybe you should uninstall the update. If not then I'd probably leave the update in place.
