to OUTLAW
When I was a kid my father would stop the world to get to a used book
sale. So I grew up in a house full of old moldy books. Really cool,
old, moldy books, but old and moldy books. As soon as I could read I
started reading those old, moldy books. We had tons of Mythology,
Greek, Roman, Norse, and Chinese; Kipling all over the place, loads of
short story anthologies, and lots and lots of Adventure stories. The
Call of the Wild, Lenigan and the Ants, The Most Dangerous Game, The
Three Musketeers and my absolute favorite Beau Geste.
His house is still full of old, moldy books and today those books are
even older and moldier. And that's a problem, because my four boys
have really nasty allergies, and when I pocket one of those old
Penguins and ask the kids to read them, they can't.
So, since I have to rebuild the library, what's first? Think OUTLAW.
