Wild West City
gunshot victim recovering - slowly, and with determination
Netcong, NJ - Harris, 40, who once was a classical guitarist, has been partially
paralyzed ever since being shot in the head more than three years ago in an
accident at Wild West City in Byram. He lived in Netcong at the time and was
working as a cowboy actor at the theme park, something he said he loved. He
had lived next door to Wild West City his entire life. Its owners were his
good friends.

Anaheim, CA - She lost her stuffed puppy somewhere between the Enchanted Tiki
Room and Tomorrowland. Too much ground to cover and thousands of people meant
the search was futile -- we retraced our steps, but no puppy. To us, her
parents, it was just another toy, but to our three-year-old daughter, the
lost black-and-white stuffy was cause for heartbreak -- Disneyland may be the
Happiest Place on Earth, but not when you're a little girl with a lost dog.
So, it was off to the Lost and Found, fingers crossed.

Water park plans
early-evening fireworks
Oahu, HI - Wet 'n' Wild Hawaii will at 6 p.m. Thursday present what is
expected to be the earliest among the larger New Year's Eve fireworks
displays on Oahu. Pyrotechnic artist: "Fireworks by Grucci," which
has produced prominent fireworks displays around the world for U.S.
presidential inaugurations, Olympic Games and World Fairs.

zoo director has energy to spare
GREAT BEND, Kan. - When Scott Gregory talks to the animals, he does so with
an English accent. Uprooted at age 12 when his father's printing business job
took the family from England to Florida, Gregory recalls an adjustment that
was tearful. Far different was the adjustment he made this month, moving from
Florida to Great Bend to take over as director of the city's zoo.

England Aquarium bid hello to six more today -- at a decidedly chillier

Sculpture in Lawrence, is one of six large ice sculptures to be installed
around Boston for First Night Boston, the annual New Year's Eve extravaganza.

praised in annual inspection
UK - Bristol Zoo has passed its annual inspection with flying colours. Staff
at the zoo are celebrating after official inspectors gave them a
near-faultless zoo licence, and said they had "nothing but praise"
