Disney Looking Into Cradle for Customers
The Walt Disney Company has started an ambitious and risky march toward the one corner of childhood it does not already dominate: newborns.  Mr. Mooney is working on a loyalty program, for instance, in which pregnant women might receive free theme park tickets in return for signing up for e-mail alerts.

HK Ocean Park ends ticket sale for 3rd time on full visitors during Spring Festival
HONG KONG, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Ocean Park temporarily ended tickets sale Monday for the third time during the Spring Festival on full tourists, at a time when the canteen and retail business in the park both recorded high increase.

End of era for Dorney Park's Tot Spot
PA - Apparently my post last year that Dorney Park is eliminating its entire Tot Spot from the lower part of the park was right on target. The park filed a planning commission request last week to install a new thrill ride in the space formerly occupied by the Laser, a looping coaster removed in 2008. In the request, Dorney said it's removing kiddie rides in the area.

Security boosted after Movie World carjacking
Australia - A Gold Coast theme park has boosted security after a group was attacked in the car park during a carjacking on the weekend. Movie World has increased security patrols and added cameras around its car park following the incident on Saturday.

General Manager:
3-5 years operations experience. Must be familiar with finance, marketing and general operations.
 
Marketing Manager:
Responsible for group sales, public relations, advertising/promotions and corporate sponsorship. Should have 3-5 years experience in FEC/theme park marketing.
 
Operations/Maintenance Manager:
Areas of responsibility include facilities maintenance, rides and attractions, safety/first aid. Should have 3-5 years experience in maintenance, operations and safety. 

Requirements for all Positions:  All positions require 3-5 years experience in the FEC/theme park industry.  Assignment minimum:  3-5 years.  Salary (plus full benefits) commensurate with experience.

Attendance creeps from 40-year low
WILLIAMSBURG, VA  — A year after attendance sank to a 40-year low, it crept up slightly in 2010. Colonial Williamsburg reported Friday that paid attendance rose 4% to 686,000. The Goodwin Building spins that as a “visitor gate count” of 1.7 million, essentially the same as 2009.
