Civil Society Constituency of the GAVI Alliance Call for nominations for Alternate Representative to the GAVI Alliance Board

**Kindly forward to all relevant listservs, apologies for any cross posting**

Launched in 2000, the GAVI Alliance is a global health partnership representing stakeholders in immunisation from both private and public sectors. The mission of the GAVI Alliance is to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries.

The CSO representative and Alternate to the GAVI Board act as a liaison between GAVI and CSOs, representing the views and concerns of each side while working to improve immunisation and CSO participation in strengthening immunisation. The CSO Board member and Alternate to the GAVI Board is supported by a 20-member Steering Committee (SC), broader Civil Society Forum (Forum), and Communications Focal Point (CFP).  The roles and responsibilities of each are described in the Charter of the Constituency.

Under the Charter, the Alternate automatically becomes the Board member at the end of the member’s two-year term.

The Civil Society Constituency is now seeking nominations for this Alternate position for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2013, to be followed by a two-year term as Board member.  The terms of reference, description of desired characteristics, formal call for nominations and application form can all be found in the attached pdf.

Recruitment of the Alternate will be aligned with the GAVI Gender Policy and GAVI Alliance Board bylaws. Fluency in English is required.
Interested parties are encouraged to send nominations to board.alter...@gmail.com by 9 April, 2013 17h00 CET. For full details and requirements, kindly see the attached document.

Warm regards to all on behalf of the GAVI CSO Steering Committee
