Subject: ITSC Supporters Day 2013 now fixed

Dear All,

Following my initial email at the end of June (see below) the ITSC have been in discussion with the Club regarding next year's Supporters Day.  It has been decided that it is too much of a risk to organise the event on a date when there is no guarantee of a game.

Therefore, following review of the fixture list, in an effort to juggle the following three factors (i) provide as much notice as possible to overseas branches; (ii) pick a Saturday that is not subject to FA Cup tie movement; and (iii) have decent opposition; it has been decided that the 2013 Supporters Day will take place on Saturday 16 March to coincide with the home fixture with Bolton.  For those overseas branches that usually stay over in the UK for a few days, I'm also informed that Playford Road will host an U21 game on the Monday.

I'm pleased that after 2-3 years of holding this event, we're finally able to provide the overseas branches with 6+ months notice, so hopefully that will allow you plenty of time to make your necessary arrangements.  I look forward to seeing some of you next spring, if not before.

Best wishes,

Dear All,

Re ITSC Supporters Day 2013

Following feedback from last year's rather fragmented event, the main request received from the overseas branches ahead of a future gathering, was to provide you all with more notice to allow for flight bookings etc.

Well, with this in mind, when the fixtures were published a couple of weeks ago, it was proposed that we would immediately pick a Saturday date next year where Town had a home game on the Saturday followed by one on a Tuesday for those flying over for a few days.

Following review of the fixtures the obvious choice was Saturday 16 February 2013 vs Blackpool as it precedes the home game vs Watford on Tuesday 19 February 2013.  Although not the most glamorous double-header of football (although Blackpool and Watford may say that about us!), it did tick the boxes of providing 7-8 months notice and provide two home games in 72 hours.

Therefore, it was proposed that following swift referrals to the rest of the ITSC exec and the Club, this date would be fixed and those interested in attending could make advanced plans.

BUT... one issue we have is that Saturday 16 February 2013 is the date of the FA Cup 5th Round.  Although in recent times we've become strangers to that round of the cup, if Blackpool reached that round (and we didn't) we would be without a game that day, or if we did reach that round we could be drawn away.  Therefore, a decision has to made as to whether it's worth risking planning an event on that date.

An alternative suggestion would be to pick a home Saturday game followed by a London away game on the Tuesday night which is a trip some of the Scandinavian branches have worked with in recent times.  The only one that stands out is Saturday 30 March vs Leeds followed by Monday 1 April at Millwall, however, that's the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, so query flight price spikes at that time and also people being away on hols etc.

So to conclude, we've noted the feedback and will endeavour to provide you with a proposed date ASAP.

Finally, a note to mention some of the North American members have already booked to come over on the 16/19 Feb dates.

Best wishes,
