Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering
Lead workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand current‑state and future‑state requirements for a unified customer view.
Collaborate closely with business teams to document functional, data, and reporting requirements.
Translate ambiguous business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
Functional Design & Data Modeling
Define and design conceptual and logical customer data models.
Identify and document:
Core customer entities
Attributes
Relationships
Hierarchies
Ensure data models align with business objectives and downstream use cases.
Source System Analysis & Data Mapping
Analyze and document data flowing from multiple source systems, including:
Point‑of‑Sale (POS)
E‑commerce platforms
Loyalty programs
Marketing Cloud
ERP systems
Customer Service platforms
Create detailed source‑to‑target mapping specifications for ETL/ELT development teams.
Validate mappings through data profiling and reconciliation.
Use Case Enablement
Partner with business stakeholders to define how Customer 360 data enables key retail use cases, such as:
Campaign segmentation
Personalization
Churn prediction
Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) calculations
Ensure data availability and structure support analytical and activation needs.
Solution Validation & UAT
Act as the functional subject‑matter expert during testing and UAT phases.
Validate that solutions meet:
Documented business requirements
Data quality expectations
Functional acceptance criteria
Support defect resolution and reconfirm fixes.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Create and maintain comprehensive functional documentation, including:
Data dictionaries
Process flows
Business rule definitions
Support client knowledge transfer, adoption, and long‑term data governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Experience
5–7 years of experience delivering large‑scale data or analytics programs.
Mandatory SAP IS‑Retail experience.
Deep hands‑on experience in the retail industry, including understanding of:
Householding
Loyalty tiers
Promotional activity
Cross‑channel customer behavior
Customer Data & MDM Expertise
Strong experience with Customer 360 / Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.
Experience working with customer identity, matching, and enrichment logic.
Data Analysis & Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in SQL for:
Data profiling
Source‑to‑target validation
Ad‑hoc analysis
Comfortable working directly with data to validate business logic and assumptions.
Communication & Consulting Skills
Exceptional ability to communicate complex data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work in client‑facing consulting environments.
Strong documentation, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Hands‑on experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDP) such as:
Segment
mParticle
Adobe AEP
Experience working in multi‑cloud environments, including:
GCP
Azure
AWS
Familiarity with modern data stack technologies such as:
Databricks
Snowflake
Prior consulting experience in a client‑facing role.
