Boğaziçi University’s Department of Philosophy invites expressions of interest for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. While the position is open to all nationalities, Turkish law permits only Turkish citizens to be offered a position that leads to a permanent faculty appointment. Foreign nationals can only be offered an annually renewable contract.
The department seeks candidates whose areas of specialization and competence align with the following priority fields: (1) Logic, (2) Epistemology, (3) Ancient Philosophy, (4) Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science, and (5) Ethics. Applicants must hold a doctorate in philosophy and have at least two publications in accredited, indexed journals or books. At least one of these publications must be in a journal indexed in SSCI, AHCI or SCIE.
The standard teaching load is two courses per semester. Faculty members are also expected to contribute to the department through administrative and service responsibilities.
