The Institute of Applied Ethics (IAE), the School of Management (SM), and the Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile announce an international call for a postdoctoral research position in Business Ethics. The project will be carried out under the supervision of Professors Alejandra Marinovic (IAE) and Ignacio Pavez (SM and ISD). 

The proposed project should preferably focus on the following thematic areas: business ethics, corporate ethics, ethics in management, ethics for sustainability, and ethics for market regulation, among others. Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) is committed to the values of diversity in terms of ethnicity, gender, and origin to build a diverse community. 

In this context, female researchers are especially encouraged to apply.

Application requirements (in Spanish or English, in PDF format): 

- Ph.D. degree in applied ethics, management, economics, or related areas. Researchers who have obtained their Ph.D. degree from January 1, 2022, onwards are eligible to apply. *Female applicants who have had children in the last 3 years can count an additional year per child.
 
- Research Proposal: Maximum 5000 words. 

Content: 
1. Description of the theoretical-conceptual foundations of the research. 
2. State of the art. 
3. Research questions or hypotheses. 
4. Objectives. 
5. Methodology.
6. Work plan or Gantt chart. 
7. Scientific novelty of the proposal. 

- Statement of purpose. 
- Updated curriculum vitae.

Selection Criteria:
The evaluation of applicants will be based on their academic and research trajectory, which should focus on their acquired knowledge and skills, autonomy as a researcher, and other competencies that ensure the successful development of the proposal. Proven proficiency in academic written English is required. The project must be carried out in Chile.

Benefits for the selected postdoctoral researcher:
• Salary: 26,000,000 Chilean pesos1 annually for a maximum period of 2 years.
• Installation funding up to 2,500,000 Chilean pesos (1st year) for foreigners and those relocating to
Chile from abroad.
• Equipment and one-time investment at the beginning of the project of 4,500,000 Chilean pesos.
• UC services and facilities for the development of the project.
• Appointment as a UC postdoctoral researcher.

Important: The selected candidate must apply to the FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship competition of the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) in 2025.
