We are pleased to announce that the annual conference of the
Israeli
Philosophical Association will be held this year on Thursday,
July 9, 2026,
hosted by the forthcoming University of Kiryat Shmona in
the Galilee.
We warmly welcome proposals in one of three formats: a single
lecture
abstract, a panel proposal, or a Conexus
discussion proposal, in Hebrew or
English, in all areas of philosophy. The deadline for submissions
is March 8th,
2026.
Abstracts should be submitted using the form at the following
link:
https://wkf.ms/4hM3bIc
For any questions or inquiries, please contact the email address:
israel.p...@gmail.com
Proposals for a single lecture should not exceed 500 words and
should be
prepared for anonymous review. Please do not include any
identifying
information in the abstract.
Panel proposals should consist of a subject, introduction (up to
100 words),
and the names, affiliation, and abstract of three or four
presenters (each up to
300 words).
Conexus proposals (composed of several short “Ignite talks”)
should include
the central question, a common introduction (approximately 150
words), a
short abstract of each participant's answer to this question
(approximately 150
words), and, additionally, a response of one or two participants
to their
colleagues' answers (approximately 150 words).
The session's composition must be heterogeneous, with at least
one emeritus
and one junior researcher or student among the three or four
speakers. The
session will consist of two rounds (7-minute opening and 7-minute
response),
followed by a 30-minute joint discussion with the audience.
that readers from outside your specific field can easily
understand them. Single
lectures are limited to 20 minutes plus a 10-minute Q&A.
“Ignite Talks” are
shorter (two rounds of 7 minutes plus 30-minute Q&A) yet will
be encouraged
this year, in the hope of increasing diversity. Unless stated
otherwise, we will
assume that the presentations will be given in the language of
their abstracts.
We aim to strengthen communal ties among philosophers. Therefore,
the
conference will not be held online (on Zoom). Please prepare to
arrive in
person in advance.
Payment of the annual membership fee is a condition for
participation. The cost
is:
300 NIS for faculty members
150 NIS for emeriti and teaching fellows
50 NIS for postdoctoral fellows or independent researchers
(those who engage in
philosophy outside of an academic institution)
30 NIS for students
10 NIS for high school students
Please pay on our website:

Cash payment is possible on the day of the conference.
