Dear colleagues,

The Leibniz Center for Science and Society (LCSS) at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) invites international researchers for flexible research stays of 1-18 months in our new fellowship program "Disruptions in Science and Society" (DISSS). We award fellowships for collaborative projects with LCSS researchers, including book projects, journal publications, project proposals, or science communication initiatives. Projects should focus on the critical examination of disruptions—recent societal crises or transformations affecting the relationship between science and society. The next deadline for applications is 31 January 2026

Research Environment

The Leibniz Center for Science and Society (LCSS) at Leibniz University Hannover offers an exceptional interdisciplinary research environment: As one of Germany's major hubs for science studies and higher education research, the LCSS brings together member researchers from sociology, philosophy, political science, economics, law and beyond. Fellows benefit from close collaboration with renowned partner institutions including DZHW (German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies), CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences), TIB (German National Library of Science and Technology) and the SOCRATES fellowship programme at the philosophy department. All these institutions come together at the newly opened Forum Wissenschaftsreflexion—a state-of-the-art research building unique in Germany, dedicated entirely to interdisciplinary research on science and higher education. The broader research landscape includes the Leibniz Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association and the VolkswagenStiftung.

Best wishes,

Tanja | Bogusz
