Call for abstracts in the history and philosophy of physics

The next annual meeting of the Swiss Physical Society (SPS) will take place at the EPF in Lausanne 24 – 28 August 2026.

Deadline for submissions: Monday, 25 May 2026

The SPS calls for abstracts to all topical sessions, which includes history and philosophy of physics. As a section chair in the history and philosophy of physics (together with Jérôme Baudry, EPF Lausanne), I would particularly like to encourage submissions of abstracts in our field for presentation at the conference. We particularly also welcome international scholars to submit an abstract.

The choice between an oral or a poster presentation of your contribution is possible. Due to the limited number of time slots the session organizers might however be forced to change oral presentations into posters. If possible, please mark the option “talk OR poster” in your submission.

For more information and for the submission of abstracts, please visit this site: https://sps.ch/en/events/sps_annual_meeting_2026

Best regards,

Christian Wüthrich
