Présentation 

 

La difficulté à penser l'expression tient à sa structure médiatrice : elle renvoie, par correspondance analogique, à un autre que soi, autrement inaccessible. L'expression rend phénomène ce qui était en amont indicible ou invisible. À ce caractère dual – l'apparition (Erscheinung) médiatrice qui montre ce qui ne se montre pas « directement » – s'ajoute un site critique, que l'expression connote : le langage. L'expression apparaît donc comme une question décisive pour la phénoménologie, de Husserl à ses héritiers et à ses hérétiques. Toutefois, l'expression de la phénoménologie a elle-même fait l'objet de critiques majeures, et ce, aussi bien au sens du génitif objectif (la phénoménologie comme théorie de l'expression) que du génitif subjectif (la phénoménologie comme mode d'expression). C'est pourquoi, nous souhaiterions examiner non seulement la source conceptuelle du problème mais encore ses possibles « dépassements », soit par l'approfondissement de la phénoménologie (notamment à travers ses développements génératifs), soit par l'exploration de voies qui en signifieraient la sortie ou la transformation. 

 

 

Modalités d'envoi des propositions et calendrier

 

Les propositions de communication, en français ou en anglais, de 500 mots minimum et de 800 mots maximum, accompagnées d'un titre et d'une brève biographie de l'intervenant.e, sont à envoyer avant le 15 avril 2026. Les propositions doivent être soumises au format Word ou PDF et présentées de manière anonymisée. La notice biographique de l’intervenant.e doit figurer dans le corps du mail.

Les interventions, en français ou en anglais, seront d'une durée de 30 minutes, suivies de 20 minutes de questions.

Les réponses seront communiquées le 30 avril 2026.

Le colloque se tiendra les vendredi 03 et samedi 04 juillet à l'ENS (45 rue d'Ulm, Paris). Il aura lieu exclusivement en présentiel.

- la phénoménologie et ses « hérésies » ;

- l'herméneutique et le structuralisme ;

- les critiques de l'expression phénoménologique ; 

- les études littéraires ;

- les études théologiques ;

- la philosophie analytique ;

- la sémiologie et perspectives interdisciplinaires ;

- la philosophie sociale et politique.

Conference

 

The difficulty of thinking expression lies in its mediating structure: through analogical correspondence, it refers to an other than itself that would otherwise remain inaccessible. Expression renders phenomenon what was previously unsayable or invisible. To this dual character – the mediating appearance (Erscheinung) that shows what does not show itself “directly” – is added a critical site connoted by expression: language. Expression therefore appears as a decisive question for phenomenology, from Husserl to his heirs and heretics. Yet the expression of phenomenology has itself been the object of major critiques, both in the objective genitive (phenomenology as a theory of expression) and in the subjective genitive (phenomenology as a mode of expression). We therefore seek to examine not only the conceptual source of the problem but also its possible “overcomings,” either through a deepening of phenomenology (notably through its generative developments) or through the exploration of paths that would signify its transformation or departure.

 

 

Submission guidelines and timeline

 

Proposals, in French or English, of a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 800 words, accompanied by a title and a brief biographical note of the speaker, must be submitted before April 15, 2026. Proposals must be submitted in Word or PDF format and must be anonymized. The speaker’s biographical note must be included in the body of the email.

Presentations, in French or English, will last 30 minutes and will be followed by 20 minutes of questions.

Decisions will be communicated on April 30, 2026.

The conference will take place on Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4 at the ENS (45 rue d’Ulm, Paris). It will be held exclusively in person.
