We are pleased to invite abstracts for contributions to a special issue on the topic:
What is democratic about participation? Representing society in opened-up knowledge production
The special issue will be published in the Journal of Political Sociology (https://journalofpoliticalsociology.org/).
The guest editors are Jan-Peter Voß (Aachen), Hagen Schölzel (Erfurt), and Ulf Bohmann (Chemnitz).
The deadline for submitting abstracts is February 28, 2026.

Please pay particular attention to the last sentence: “All papers should address the dimensions of participation, knowledge production, representation, performativity, as well as interpretations of the resulting democratic quality.”
