Call for Participation — Summer School Process Metaphysics”

 

15 — 17 September 2025 / Turin, Italy

The summer school “Process Metaphysics” explores the field of Process Metaphysics, a philosophical approach emphasizing dynamic processes as fundamental to reality.  The event focuses on three main topics: general principles of process metaphysics and its implications for the natural sciences, specifically biology and physics.

Tina Röck (University of Dundee, UK, Scotland) – General Principles of Process Philosophy

Vesselin Petrov (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) – General Principles of Process Philosophy

Anna-Lisa Nußbaum (University of Siegen) — Applying Process Philosophy to Biology

Maximilian Zachrau (University of Siegen) – Applying Process Philosophy to Biology

Emilia Margoni (University of Geneva, University of Pisa/Firenze) – Applying Process Philosophy to Physics

Cord Friebe (University of Siegen) – Applying Process Philosophy to Physics

 

There is no participation fee for the summer school.

 

There are only limited spots available. To apply please sent a letter of motivation (about 1 page) and a CV to: cord....@uni-siegen.de. Deadline: 01 Mai 2025.

Workshop: Process Metaphysics

 

The summer school adjoins a workshop on the same topic (18 September – 19 September) where we will further investigate the nature of processes, dynamicity, and the metaphysical implications for the philosophy of physics and biology.
