Burt Hopkins- “Jacob Klein and Phenomenology.”

ההרצאה תתקיים ביום חמישי 13.12.18 בשעה 14:00 במרכז אדלשטיין, בניין לוי, חדר 324, קמפוס א' ספרא, גבעת רם, ירושלים.

Abstract:

Jacob Klein’s (1899-1978) contribution to phenomenology will be discussed. His challenge to Heidegger’s claim that Being is the most basic problem in Greek philosophy will be presented in terms of his argument for the fundamentality of the problem of the One and the Many in the philosophy of Pythagoreans and Plato.  Also discussed will be Klein’s argument for the fundamental importance of the Greek concept of number for understanding the fundamentality of the structure of the unity of a manifold in Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology.
