Registration Reminder:
Winter School on Classical German Philosophy
Institute of Philosophy UDP - 28 July – 1 August 2025

Hegel’s Doctrine of the Concept within the Science of Logic is perhaps "the most central and most obscure of his doctrines" (R. Pippin). This obscurity has prompted deep reflection on the relationship between his notion of the Concept (Begriff) and the systematic programme of science itself. A detailed examination of the Denkbestimmung “concept” as a nodal determination of Hegel’s system, of metaphysics, and of subjectivity is one of the central aims of this Winter School.
The Ibero-American Society for Hegelian Studies, the Cervantes Foundation, the Universidad Diego Portales, and the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez invite participants to the II School in Classical German Philosophy, this time held in winter, during July 2025. The School’s speakers will focus on various aspects and figures of Hegelian metaphysics, with a special emphasis on the metaphysics of the concept.

The School welcomes a broad range of approaches within the tradition of German Idealism but presupposes prior expertise. It is therefore directed primarily at doctoral and master’s-level researchers (postdoctoral researchers may be admitted upon evaluation) who are well-versed in the School’s theme. Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required.

The deadline for registration is 15 June 2025.

Registration is free of charge but mandatory, subject to a limited number of available places. Four scholarships will be offered to support participation in the School.
For applications, send an email to: complexitys...@gmail.com
