Thanks for Being Who You Are!

Dearest Posthumans,

How are You? We hope this newsletter finds You Well.

In these historical times of profound global tensions and ongoing conflicts that continue to affect countless lives, the Global Posthuman Network reaffirms its commitment to existential dignity, ethical co-existence, and shared peace. We stand firmly against all forms of violence and believe that posthumanist perspectives offer vital tools for cultivating compassion, response-ability, and relational ethics—not as abstractions, but as lived practices attuned to the urgencies of our present moment.

We are grateful to share that our recent gatherings in India and Singapore have successfully taken place, bringing together a vibrant, truly glocal community. These events, as reflected in this month’s editorial, have deepened our shared exploration of education, creativity, and coexistence in the age of AI.

And now… Venice calls!

The Third World Colloquium on Existential Posthumanism, (In)Forming Coexistence: Existential Posthumanism, Ontological Design and Refashioning, will take place from 14–16 October 2026 at Università Iuav di Venezia (Department of Architecture and Arts and Iuav Doctoral School, Dipartimenti di Culture del Progetto), in collaboration with the Global Posthuman Network, Scuola di Interazione Uomo-Animale (SIUA), Centro Studi Filosofia Postumanista, Posthuman Academy, and Rete Italiana Postumana. The CPF is now open, and the deadline is: May 31st 2026

We warmly invite You to join us in Venice for what promises to be another mesmerizing convergence of thought, practice, and shared imagination.

Above all, we remain a glocal community—a shared journey sustained by dialogue, care, and the willingness to imagine ways of existing grounded in reciprocity and mutual flourishing across differences: one as many.

Thank You for Your Presence, Your Vision, and Your continued Engagement.

Peace and Much Appreciation,

The Global Posthuman Network

Memories from...THE SECOND COLLOQUIM ON EXISTENTIAL POSTHUMANISM (14-17 January 2026)

How might the notion of “Renaissance” serve as a lens for reflections on the challenges of the twenty-first century at individual, societal, and planetary levels? This was one of the central questions animating the Second World Colloquium on Existential Posthumanism, "Posthuman Renaissance(s): Making Self, Making World", held from 14–16 January 2026 at Presidency University in Kolkata, India.

Presidency offered a particularly effective setting for this exploration: the depth of its intellectual history, being one of the oldest universities in India, together with its lively, creative environment, created the conditions to move beyond conventional academic formats, in line with the exploratory, pedagogical path of existential posthumanism. Alongside panels featuring short paper presentations and discussions, the programme included workshops, artistic performances, and collective practices, such as indoor and outdoor circle times, where relationality was not only addressed as a concept, but enacted and embodied.

A variety of approaches and themes emerged across these experiences. From literary, philosophical, and artistic perspectives, more than 70 participants engaged with urgent questions, including the environmental crisis, gender, postcoloniality, ontology, and subjectivity. The idea of a “posthuman Renaissance” was also explored through a collective walk across sites in Kolkata associated with the Bengal Renaissance, opening new layers of the notion beyond its Eurocentric framings.

The conference also created space for posthumanist reflection to take shape in practice, beyond theory. The presence of participants from the "Posthuman Educator" programme strengthened this dimension. Months later, the memory of this special event remains vivid, along with the connections and shared visions that continue to develop...as the journey moves toward the Third World Colloquium on Existential Posthumanism, to be held in Venice.
Memories from...POSTHUMAN PEDAGOGIES: MINDFUL CREATIVYT IN THE AGE OF AI - Posthuman Pedagogies: Mindful Creativity in the Age of AI (4–5 March 2026)

The Conference “Posthuman Pedagogies: Mindful Creativity in the Age of AI” at Lasalle University in Singapore was both illuminating and deeply inspiring. Scholars from (in alphabetic order): Australia, Europe, India, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam came together in a vibrant exchange of ideas, each bringing unique cultural and intellectual perspectives to a shared question: what does it mean to learn in the age of AI?

A powerful insight emerged throughout the conference—AI is not a threat, but an invitation. It invites us to return to the very source of education: not as the accumulation of information, but as a process of self-realization, awareness, and transformation. The conversations moved beyond fear and toward possibility, emphasizing mindful creativity and a renewed sense of purpose in teaching and learning.

Singapore itself embodied this vision. With its seamless blend of advanced technology and deep-rooted cultural traditions, it offered a living example of balance—where innovation and wisdom coexist. In this setting, posthuman trajectories felt not abstract, but grounded and alive.

The experience was a reminder that the future of education lies not in resisting change, but in meeting it with clarity, creativity, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.

Thanks to everyone who attended—both in person and online—for making this hybrid event so engaging and meaningful. Special appreciation to the speakers for their thought-provoking contributions, and to the organizers for creating such a welcoming and inspiring space for dialogue and connection. More to come!

(In)Forming Coexistence:

Existential Posthumanism, Ontological Design and Refashioning

(14-16 October 2026, Università Iuav di Venezia, Venice, Italy)

Contemporary social, ecological, technological, and existential crises compel a rethinking of what it means to exist, to coexist, and to take form in a posthuman world. Drawing on diverse strands of posthumanism, this CFP approaches existence not as an exclusively human condition but as a relational, distributed, and more-than-human process. The notion of (in)forming central for this conference, is understood simultaneously as giving form and to give information, being formed and informed, while remaining open to transformation. (In)forming thus offers a critical lens through which to interrogate posthuman modes of existence, processes of regeneration and refashioning, and ontological design, in the recognition that the worlds we design in turn design us.

This event will be in person only. The language of shared communication will be English and Italian (with translations).

The sessions will be offered in four formats. Please specify in Your abstract whether You wish to participate:

(1) in a panel session (with the option of proposing a full panel with other 4 speakers);
(2) present a workshop, lab, or practical seminar;
(3) a poster;
(4) or contribute a performance/art exhibition;

CFP: "The Routledge International. Handbook of Critical Posthuman Educational Research"
Editors: Kathryn Strom (California State University East Bay) and Mirka Koro (Arizona State University).

We invite section editors and chapter proposals for The Routledge Handbook of Critical Posthuman Educational Research, a comprehensive handbook mapping how critical posthuman theories reconceptualize educational research and its various practices. We are hoping to collaboratively create a handbook that doesn't just map the field, but enacts the posthuman values of distributed agency, polyvocality, local and situated knowledges and ethical responsibility toward different, potentially dissenting, and marginalized voices.

We look forward to receiving your submissions! Proposals are due May 1.

For questions, please email Kathryn Strom (kathryn...@csueastbay.edu) or Mirka Koro (mirka...@asu.edu).

NEW BOOK: "Ontohackers: Radical Movement Philosophy in the Age of Extinctions and Algorithms, Part III" by Jaym*/Jaime del Val
Ontohackers redefines what movement, worlds, and bodies are through the sense of proprioception reconceptualized as formless fluctuation field, a movement matrix that is itself also thought, and which underlies all life forms and fields, including the inorganic. Our worlds are made of endless such entangled fields n-folding in neverending variation or enferance. The current planetary crisis has emerged due to an accidental evolutionary alignment, narrowing, and impoverishment of that matrix’s indeterminacy, that appeared gradually and eventually with bipedalism, and which created an imbalance between the larger proprioceptive field and its brain, and made the atrophied body extend itself technically in geometric fields gradually covering the planet, along with its fears, with disastrous consequences that are unleashing an unprecedented type of mass extinction and species suicide.

NEW BOOK: "Divergences: An Anthology of Neurodissident Worlds" by B. and Ombre Tarragnat
Divergences does not approach neurodivergence as diagnosis or identity, but instead becomes a lens through which the norm itself turns strange—an alternate perceptual logic capable of reshaping how we think about intimacy, infrastructure, technology, and care.

Across essays, poems, stories, memoir, and hybrid texts, Divergences asks what happens when perception runs on different circuitry: when language fractures into vibration and pulse, when politeness and coherence reveal themselves as imposed postures rather than neutral baselines. This collection resists sentimental narratives of difference. There is no recovery arc here. Nervous systems appear instead as sites of conflict and capacity—hyper-attentive, analytical, erotically charged, exhausted, lucid. Form carries the argument. Some pieces pulse in fragments and diaristic rupture; others move in tidal repetition, inviting skimming and sensory drift; while theory and confession coexist without hierarchy. The self appears composite—collaged and choral—language broken open to reveal the seams of diagnosis, gender, pain, and survival.

NEW PUBLICATION: "Strappi. Cani – (Q)uore – Corpo" by Manuela Macelloni

NEW BOOK: "Digital Access to the Performing Arts" by Magda Romanksa
Drawing on comparative research across the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Australia, the study examines how the pandemic revealed both the potential and the shortcomings of digital programming—particularly for disabled and marginalized audiences. Through case studies and critical legal analysis, the book traces the rise and decline of digital theatre during and after the pandemic, analyzes the tensions between copyright law and disability rights, and considers the role emerging technologies, including AI, may play in the future of the performing arts.

Straddling the fields of performance studies, digital humanities, disability studies, law, and public policy, the book argues for a new global framework that balances copyright protection with the human right to culture, advocating for increased accessibility through sustainable digital tools.
