is looking for a scientific employee (postdoc) (m/f/d) 100% TVL13 for 44 months

 

About us:

The Institute for Ethics and History of Medicine (see https://egm.umg.eu/) is an internationally active, team-oriented institute with approximately 15 employees, which is involved in teaching and research on highly topical, socially relevant issues.

The successful candidate will be employed, together with colleagues at the Leibniz University of Hannover, in the context of the ethical-legal subproject of the “Lower Saxony

Center for AI and Causal Methods in Medicine” (CAIMed) (an overview of the project can be found here https://caimed.de/ ).

 

Your tasks:

  • Independent ethical-philosophical research on the role of AI in doctor-patient communication and in decision-making processes in healthcare (e.g. with specific reference to concepts such as autonomy, privacy, explainability, responsibility, fairness, or protection against discrimination)
  • Applied ethical reflection on the use of AI in one or more medical use cases (e.g. pathology, infection, oncology)
  • Consideration of cross-cultural or empirical research approaches
  • Scientific publications and presentations
  • Communication of medical ethics research at interdisciplinary and public events

Your profile:

  • Very good to good doctorate in moral philosophy, medical ethics or technology ethics
  • Previous knowledge of relevant subject-specific ethical discussions
  • Very good knowledge of English and German, both written and spoken
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in interdisciplinary exchange (especially with computer science, law, and human medicine)
  • - Professional and independent way of working
