We are delighted to announce the workshop Medical Knowledge and Practices Facing Plato: New Perspectives on the Role of Medical Expertise in the Platonic Corpus.

The workshop will be held in Durham, in the Ritson Room of the Department of Classics and Ancient History (38 North Bailey) and online on MS Teams on 21–22 March 2025. This event is a collaboration between Durham's Department of Classics and Ancient History and the Dipartimento di Civiltà e Forme del Sapere of Università di Pisa. It is sponsored by the Dipartimento di Civiltà e Forme del Sapere of Università di Pisa, the British Society for the History of Philosophy (BSHP), the Durham Centre for Language and Writing Systems (CLAWS), the, the Durham Center for Ancient and Medieval Philosophy (DCAMP), the Durham Institute of Medical Humanities (IMH), the MIND Association, and the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies (SPHS).
