Dear all,

The Cambridge Graduate Conference on the Philosophy of Mathematics and Logic returns for its nineteenth year. The conference will be held, as in previous years, in St John's College, Cambridge on 24–25 January 2026. The conference is intended as a forum for graduate students who work in formal areas of philosophy to present their work to their peers.

 
As such, we welcome papers concerned with logic, the philosophy of mathematics, or formal philosophical methods. A representative, but nonexclusive, list of subdisciplines would be: philosophy of mathematics, logic and philosophy of logic, applications of logic to epistemology and metaphysics, formal epistemology, decision theory, and applications of formal methods to the philosophy of science. Papers will have respondents, and will be followed by open discussion. Respondents will be selected from members of the Cambridge University Faculty of Philosophy and other philosophy departments in the UK.

Papers should be no longer than 4000 words (including footnotes and appendices, excluding references) and suitable for a 40 minute presentation. They should also be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 150 words. The paper should be anonymised and suitable for blind review. Please include a separate cover sheet including name, paper title, abstract, institution, status (e.g. PhD student), and contact details. You may also include on the cover sheet an indication of membership of a group underrepresented in philosophy (e.g. women, ethnic minorities, first-generation university students), though this is optional. Submissions are preferred in .pdf, .rtf, or .doc(x) format. They should be emailed to cam.phil....@googlemail.com. Receipt of submission will be confirmed by email. Talks are selected on the basis of double-blind review. We are looking for papers that make an interesting contribution in engagement with the salient literature and which are likely to lead to a stimulating discussion at the conference. In selecting papers, we try to ensure a fair coverage of areas within the conference's scope. Principally historical or technical papers will only be considered if they are of obvious philosophical interest. When deciding between equally appropriate submissions, we take into account authors' membership of groups underrepresented in philosophy. We receive many strong papers; the acceptance rate is usually 20-25%.

We adhere to the BPA/SWIP good practice guidelines concerning conferences, accessibility, and travel. We particularly encourage submissions from women and other underrepresented groups in philosophy. Moreover, we would like to emphasise that the venue will be completely wheelchair accessible with a large lift and an accessible toilet and service dogs are welcome. There are generous breaks between talks, and quiet space outside. Please contact us with any queries related to accessibility.

The deadline for submissions is 28 October (end of day, UK time).

We will notify authors of the decision regarding their paper by 12 December. For successful applicants we plan to cover the cost of accommodation, conference fee, and the conference dinner. We regret that we are unable to reimburse travel costs for graduate speakers.
