Dear colleagues,

We are truly delighted to announce the Call for Panels for the IV International Conference of the journal Scuola Democratica, titled: “Learning for Democracy / Democracy for Learning”

The Conference will be held at Sapienza University of Rome, from September 1st to 4th, 2026 - the very institution where the journal was founded and has grown over the past decades.

Today, both new and longstanding challenges emerge at the intersection of Education and Democracy. In the face of these complex questions, we believe it is essential to create a space for dialogue among multiple disciplinary and professional communities, in order to contribute meaningfully to this moment of urgency and transformation in our time. The dialogue is also relevant for STS scholars, where the interplay between knowledge production, democratic participation, and social impact is a central focus.
